Class FAQ’s

Here are some of the common questions we receive from students looking to take our classes. If you don't find your answer please don't hesitate to reach out to us!

What should we wear to the class?

During the class you are required to wear blue jeans and closed toe shoes. We recommend coming with multiple layers during the winter and a short sleeve shirt during the summer. If you are wearing a sweatshirt please ensure there are no draw strings that could get caught in moving machinery. The shop is heated in the winter, but can range from 65 to 95 degrees depending on when the forge is running. While we forge there are a lot of sparks and mill scale that will burn your clothes and create holes. Make sure you are comfortable with your clothing getting ruined.

Also avoid excessively loose and baggy clothes and any jewelry including bracelets, rings, and necklaces. If you have long beard or head hair please ensure you have a way to pull it back out of the way for your safety.

Note: Failure to wear blue jeans and closed toe shoes will result in you being turned away.

What if we need to cancel the class?

If you cancel the class 48 hours before your scheduled date and time we allow you to reschedule the class. If you cancel the class within the 48 hours these will be handled on a case by case basis. Six-Gen Forge, LLC has the right to withhold any or all funds.

What if there is inclement weather or class has to be cancelled or rescheduled?

Mother Nature has a mind of her own when it comes to Wisconsin. Leading up to the class we will monitor the weather and reach out if we need to cancel the class. If the class is cancelled due to weather or due to staffing we will notify you appropriately. If you wish to not reschedule your funds will be returned to you in full. If you wish to reschedule we will try to accommodate future dates that work for you.

How old do you need to be to take the class?

Our courses require that you must be 14 years of age or older and accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. This means that the parent or legal guardian is required to take the class. Although the age limit is 14 years of age it’s the responsibility of the parent or legal guardian accompanying the minor to understand the boundaries and limits of the minor. We take safety very seriously. We have a zero tolerance for horse play. The parent or legal guardian and minor will receive one warning. If the safety of our team and other students in the class continues you will be asked to leave with no refund.

What if we have food allergies or need special accommodations for lunch?

The week before the class we reach out and give you a list of different options for meals. If you have a food allergy or need a special meal accommodation please let us know when scheduling the class. We want to ensure that the class is enjoyable for all. If you need to bring something along that needs to be refrigerator we do have a fridge and freezer that you can use.

Are we able to smoke, vape, or chew?

To be respectful of other students, our staff, and the owners of the property we do not allow smoking, vaping, or chewing on the property. If you need to take a break you are allowed to leave and come back. However, the class will continue and you can pick up where we are at. If you are in a one on one class we will continue to count the time you are gone as time in the shop.
