Welcome to our first blog post for Flames and Blades: A Blog for Blacksmith and Bladesmith Enthusiasts. I, Jacob Phillips, will post blogs on a weekly basis. The purpose of this blog is to give pieces of information related to blacksmithing and bladesmithing. Some of the blog posts will be educational, others will be conversational with smiths, and to mix it up I will share random updates from Six-Gen Forge.
Smith Spotlight: Learn How to get Featured
If you are an active smith looking to highlight your work, then check out our Smith Spotlight! Each blog post we are looking to showcase a different smith. To get featured fill out our google form. We collect your information including forge name, city and state, how long you have been smithing, favorite project to date, and a tip for other smiths. Along with your answers we ask for a headshot and a picture of the project that was your favorite. If you have any questions or have problems filling out the form you can always email your submission to sixgenforge@gmail.com. In the subject put: Smith Spotlight.
Future Topics: We Want Your Input!
Simply throwing random information out on a blog may be boring. We want to provide content that you enjoy reading. Some of the topics will include general tools, pros and cons, and safety equipment. Others will include technical articles on Decarb, Cryogenics, Damascus, and much more. If you have more ideas or something you would like to see featured feel free to share.
